Krinstinsky’s soul inspiration for his landscape paintings began from the incredible journey his grandfather undertook while escaping the chaos of his homeland by foot during the world war. During this journey he wrote letters, and carefully wrote down the steps he took. He eventually stranded in Namur, Belgium which became his safe haven. There, he found love and was given the new name Krinstinsky.
Sacha Krinstinsky has now recreated the path his grandfather took, and paints the landscapes that were seen through this path.
His series ‘Days to a name’ are an ode to his grandfather’s journey to an identity.
