“This lighthouse is from a small town called Ushuaia, in the southernmost part of Argentina. Beyond it lies the Antarctic continent for those of us living in the northern hemisphere, this place feels like the very end of the world.
I have always been fascinated by the idea of thresholds, the spaces where one reality meets another. Much of my work explores these boundaries, between day and night, where dawn and dusk exist, or between the mountains and the sea.
Throughout my life, I have moved often, living both in the mountains and by the ocean. These experiences became a source of inspiration for my recent work Lighthouse. As I expanded on these memories, I began searching for what people call “the end of the world” and discovered the lighthouse of Ushuaia, a symbol of both distance and connection, solitude and guidance.” – Huang, Po-Hsun
